Forum Title: Concrete Sealing/Coatings
Does anyone here have experience in sealing concrete/ epoxy floor coatings or maybe even the new solar reflective coatings ? Curious as to how big of a market there might be. How labor intensive is it? Etc . I’ve had maybe one call for it but as concrete is becoming more and more prevalent it could be an enticing market

I have not sealed concrete before, but I am curious on what to use if I was going to. A lot of retailers in my area concrete the HC parking areas in order to get the 2% or less slope in that area. I was thinking about offering sealing that area along with there parking lot, but im afraid nothing will stick to it after we would seal it. In the winter I buy my bulk salt from a concrete supply company, they said the best material to seal concrete is a 50 50 mix of linseed oil and mineral spirts.

We've been looking into doing garage and barn work with epoxy floor coatings. Sherwin has a line. Anyone currently doing floor coatings that can chime in?

So concrete is usually just sealed when it’s new and green. After that it’s coated. There are epoxy type coatings for floors and garages, as well as stains. Generally the concrete is left alone unless the client needs it coated for cosmetic or some type of skid resistance. There are also the arcryilc tennis court coatings that can work well, however I have been told that they should be avoided on driveways due to the little residue that may track inside a residence. I’ve also heard they don’t sit well under snow, with traffic. I’m curious to know what others think.
